Small Group Season Finale.
Tonight, we had our last Small Group before the summer break. We ate some food at Applebees and John and Corrie had a sort of hot apple crisp and ice cream dessert that was sizziling as it was served. Good times as always.

Google AdSense Hijacked. Google AdSense site hijacked in the Google serps… oh the irony - JenSense.com This is a good one. I think Jan said it well:
When you decide to hijack a site in the Google serps, it makes sense to do one that will benefit you in some way, while not raising yourself too high on the search engine’s radar.

No word yet on what caused the explosion, or when power could come back up. At least 43 trains and 40,000 metro passengers are stuck underground and there was city-wide gridlock as a result.

50 Fun Things to Do with Your iPod. Kottke has posted a compilation of ~50 things that you can do with your iPod. One thing I’m always impressed with, is that Kottke does a good job at picking a topic, doing a little bit of research, and then writing a blog entry about it. Some of it is actually useful. This iPod bit is more-so fun and interesting, and less-so useful and practical. But still, I dig his style. Blog Entry Actual Page≡ 16 May 2005

Mother’s Day. Here’s some pictures from Mother’s Day in Willmar. Mandy, Brian, Jill, and myself made the trip. We spent the day at Uncle Art and Annette’s place and ate tender steak, asian salad, and sweet cookies. Mandy and I gave Grandma a book of norwegian jokes, thinking that they would be right up her alley. I came to find out, after my grandma started reading the jokes out loud to the group, that a lot of them were raunchy and sexual. Oops. Happy Mother’s Day Grandma!≡ 10 May 2005

Wisdom Teeth. Mandy got 3 wisdom teeth pulled on Friday. Thanks to Chloe, JoAnne, Brenden, and Nicole for taking care of her until I got home from work. Also, thanks to JoAnne who made us a whole bunch of great cheesy broccoli noodle soup. Brenden was being very kind to Auntie Mandy by wiping her face and wishing her well. He was being a good helper. There’s one picture below, of that that.≡ 8 May 2005

The Virgin. Last night, Esther had her spring violin recital at the McPhail Center For Music in Minneapolis. The recital was for students of Mary West and the level of skill displayed was astonishing. Kids from 3rd or 4th grade, on up through high-school seniors played things that didn’t seem natural. I was very impressed, and it’s been a long time since I’ve listened to music with that high of quality. Esther did a wonderful job, although she said afterwards that she was nervous about the fact that she wasn’t playing her own violin (it’s getting repaired), and instead, was playing May West’s.≡ 5 May 2005

Exploding German Toads. My dad sent this link to me from the BBC. Evidently some toads in Germany are catching an unknown disease, which makes them swell up to 3 times their normal size. They swell so much that they explode, propelling their entrails up to 3.2 ft (1 meter). Danish radio also reports that the exploding toads have also crossed the border north into Denmark.≡ 2 May 2005
