On Tuesday night, June 21st, at about 8:00 PM, my brother Brian got in a motorcycle accident. He's currently in the Intensive Care Unit at the Hennepin County Medical Center and the main concern is his legs. He had compound fractures in his femurs, fibulas and tibias and went through 11 hours in the operating room where orthopedic and vascular surgeons worked to save his legs.
Currently, the nurses are getting pulses in both feet and things seem to be stabilizing, but he is still at risk of infection, and will be in the hospital for 1-2 weeks (current estimate). It is not known if there is any nerve damage at this point. We do know that Brian can wiggle his toes which is a great sign and gives us hope. We will write when we know more.
Please pray for Brian--that his body would heal, and resist infection. Also pray for his wife, Jill, and the doctors--that they would have wisdom.
And it's Brian's birthday today! He's 24.
So sorry to hear about the accident. It could be any one of us at any given time. We are praying for Brain and the family and of course the doctors. We hope and pray for a speedy full recovery.
What a way to spend your Birthday! Happy Birthday Brian!

Hi Brian & Jill:
I am so sorry to hear about your accident. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I will continue to pray for a speedy and full recovery. Brian you have a wonderful attitude in life, that will help you in the days ahead. God Bless you and keep you. Gail Bertsch
Benson family,
Thought I’d quick check my email before heading over to Rice Park for the band concert. How quickly life can change! An ordinarily carefree night for Dennis playing the trombone like he always does (and so well!) and in the blink of an eye, the concert seems trivial. To Brian, Jill and families - my thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you go through this difficult time. But, remember you have each other, friends who care deeply about you, and a Loving Father who is faithful. Was it just this past Sunday that I sat behind Dennis, Brian, and Jill in church? I got a big smile on my face as I observed Brian with his arm around Jill and Dennis with his hand placed comfortably on Brian’s shoulder. It gave me the impression that all was well with the world for that moment! Keep holding each other close and keep asking for a complete and speedy recovery. Take care and keep updating.

I wll pray for your recovery and for your spirit to be refreshed each day. With your family at your side, doctors and nurse are going to see an awesome testimony of faith and love. How special you are with so many caring about you! Rest in God’s grace and power to heal. Love in Him

Brian - I heard about your accident from Jason today at work. You and your family will be in my prayers as you continue your healing process. I pray that the Lord will bless you with much patience, strength, and yes, joy, as you go through the next weeks and months.
Brian - I have always said I’d take you for my own son - and your dad has always said “yeah, he’s a great kid, isn’t he?” I have shed many tears, which do little good, and have said many prayers, which I know our faithful Lord hears. We have put you on the prayer chain at our church, and will lift you up in prayer until He completes the healing in your body. Thank you Brian for wearing your helmet and jacket. You are loved. We also pray for wisdom for the doctors and for peace for you and Jill and the rest of your family.
Brian — you’ve got a lot of good, strong Benson blood in you to help heal quickly! Seriously, though, some of the best people are taking care of you, and you’ve got all of our thoughts and prayers going your way to help you on your way to a full and speedy recovery. Jill, take care of yourself so you can be there to help Brian along the way. Hugs for both of you!
Just called Art & Annette’s & got an update from your cuz Alex and he bro’t a tear to my eye when he after filling me in an the latest on your condition Brian, he quickly added…”so he’s a little better tonite Schellie, but will you please pray for him!” I assured him we will! We have been since we first heard the news and we will continue day in & out, pleading before our Lord to bring healing to your broken body…just as Alex pleaded with me to Pray!!
We pray for peace…for you & Jill, and your entire family…May Jesus hold you close as you hurt & heal.
Our love & prayers, The Bachs

Hello Benson family,
We all know how unpredictable life is and we never know where God is going to lead us. But we know he will never lead us astray. He will keep his wing over you and lead you through a speedy recovery. We love you and we’re here with you. Love, Colyn, Melanie and Beth
Brian - If I knew how to keep this posting “private,” I’d have a comment on ice in your arm-pits! I Praise God for the progress you’ve made so far on your road to health. I’m hoping your resting today, and that the doctors & nurses have found a way to arrest your pain. We continue to pray for you and Jill at church and in our home - for peace, rest, and trust in our faithful God. Much love, the Murphys
