We just got back from the Northwoods Triathlon in Nevis, MN. My last entry (Northwoods Triathlon: Part I) gave a little introduction into the triathlon and how much training has gone in to it. Now that we're back, I have stories and photos.
The morning of the race (Saturday), we got up at 4:30 AM, and made our way from Bemidji to Nevis (45 min) so that Mandy and Chloe could grab a spot at the first-come, first-serve transition station.
Several family members were at the race: Matt H, JoAnne, Dad, Brian and Jill, Matt C's family: Erika, Isaiah, Madelyn, and parents Dan and Maggie.
Right before the race was about to start, Mandy was surprised by the fact that her parents had driven all the way from Chicago to cheer her on. That's dedication!
Here's a link to the photos from the weekend (slideshow of the same).
This is Brian and Jill here and we just wanted to let you know that this event actually did happen. The numbers were not just written on their arms to make them look cool. They did extremely well and beat all their goals. It was a blast to witness the event. Thanks guys for going above and beyond and finding a new form of entertainment for spectators like us. Congratulations on a great race. You all did a wonderful job and I’m glad I got to witness it.
It was worth the long drive to be there. It was awesome to see you all succeed at your goals. I’m proud of each and every one of you. Great job!
