Mandy and I are so fortunate to have such great friends. Periodically, when we're at a birthday party, wedding, or just hanging out, we post photos and stories here.
Jayber just got hit with about a thousand pieces of comment spam. While dealing with that, I accidentally deleted the 10 most-recent comments on the site. Sorry.
Last night, Mandy, myself, and a group of our friends got together and helped assemble boxes of Thanksgiving food for needy families. The program is called "Boxes of Love", and is put on by Here's Life Inner City.
One of my long-time friends, Chad Schueller got married last weekend. It was a blast. I got to hang with a few peeps I hadn't seen in close to a decade. Cheers boys. Read on for a photo.
Last weekend, Mandy and I had the pasta of our dreams at Broder's Pasta Bar near 50th and France with our friends Matt and Chloe.
Broder's is this kind of small, quaint place that's usually full. Oh yeah, and it's got some colander light fixtures too, which kind of weirded me out.
This weekend (on Friday night), Rob and Jenny got a few friends together to go to the Litchfield Starlite 5 Drive-In. We saw a double feature: Fantastic Four, and Monster-in-Law.
We celebrated Nicole's Birthday on Monday night with Beef Stroganoff and Dary Queen cake. Nicole and steve have been living with us for the last two (2) months and it's been so fun to have them around and get to know them better.
Tonight, we had our last Small Group before the summer break. We ate some food at Applebees and John and Corrie had a sort of hot apple crisp and ice cream dessert that was sizziling as it was served. Good times as always.
Last night, Esther had her spring violin recital at the McPhail Center For Music in Minneapolis.
The recital was for students of Mary West and the level of skill displayed was astonishing.
Kids from 3rd or 4th grade, on up through high-school seniors played things that didn't seem natural. I was very impressed, and it's been a long time since I've listened to music with that high of quality.
Esther did a wonderful job, although she said afterwards that she was nervous about the fact that she wasn't playing her own violin (it's getting repaired), and instead, was playing May West's.
Last Saturday, a group of 30-40 of us from First Baptist went to Camp Lebanon to split wood, rake leaves, clean fire pits, and clear out some thick marshy areas. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera, so there aren't any pictures to show.
We had our Small Group Spring Party on Thursday at the Marions. John used his new grill to cook us up some tasty beef. Other activities included:
Our friends Steve and Nicole Sheldon are back from their around-the-world trip and are staying with us for a few months. We're so excited to have them back.
They returned on Thursday, April 7th. The next day (Friday), to welcome them back, we threw a BBQ at our house. Here's some pictures from the BBQ and a couple additional pictures from last night when Steve made us some cooked vegatables in oyster sauce--Thai style. Quite tasty.
Today, I went to lunch with two co-workers. On our way there, we had to pick up a car in the Designer's Guild parking ramp in Minneapolis' Warehouse District. While we were walking up the stairwell of the ramp, we came across a garbage can with this sign posted on it.
We had some friends and family over a few weeks ago. Here's a picture of our good friends Jason and Laura. They're getting married in September of this year!
This week, on Monday, a bunch of people from work (myself included) went curling at the St. Paul Curling Club. My friend Erik Anderson, took some pictures of the event and put them up on his site.
I found out yesterday that co-worker of a friend got arrested for killing a hooker in 1982 while he was a pimp in Las Vegas.
My friend Kris just sent an update. He's flying for the Air Force, and let me know that he just got to have his #1 choice: a T-38 Talon.
We went to the Mall of America for a scavenger hunt on Saturday. Here's some documentation.
